C02 has been demonstrated to be an effective solvent in oil recovery schemes. The concept of C02 capture and storage prevails when dealing with C02 injection into oil reservoirs. Under miscible or immiscible conditions, this process demonstrates that additional oil can be recovered from C02 injection, while storing the CO2 in depleted oil reservoir.
